1965 Chevrolet Impala SS

This is a true Impala SS one owner, never been molested, original paint, never wrecked, Texas car.  It was purchased from the daughter of the original owner, who inherited it when he passed away.  It had been sitting since 1973, with the rusted 1973 Texas license plate still on it when we got it.  It is in the process of a full frame off restoration.  The original 327 motor has been rebuilt, the interior has been completely redone.  The body is in the process of being prepped for paint.  The floor pans and trunk pans have been replaced.  The underside has been sand blasted and coated with a white bed liner so as to highlight the work that was done.  The frame and suspension is being sand blasted and will be powder coated.  Estimated time for completion is December 2010.

1974 VW Super Beetle

Now this is not our typical muscle car, but a very nice bug was sent to us for a “Paint Job”, and as most, it turned into a body restoration with a least 300 hours in the body.  We changed the color from a white to a dark red.  The under carriage was under coated with a truck “Bed Liner” piant for added durability.  The interior will be all new 2 tone red/white  seats, carpet, door panels done by the owner of the bug.  We are adding a  completely new A/C system to keep this little bug cool in the summer.  It has all new trim and weather seals.  This car will be finished better than it was originally and will give the owner many years of driving enjoyment.

1971 Plymouth Roadrunner (Clone)

Day and Night, thats what the difference was in the before and after of this restoration.  It started as teal colored Satellite, that needed quarters, fenders, floor boards and a vinyl top removed.  It was a Ugly Duckling, but it had all the right options – bucket seats, console, gauges and ect.  The replacement parts for these cars, as you know, are not that readily available, but as seen in the finished product, it came out spectacular.  The car was beautiful in and out.  The interior was time period correct, one year only, black and orange.  The big block 383 ran like a champ with the 727 automatic.  It sounded awesome with the 2 1/2″ custom “Pypes” exhaust with stock “Flame Thrower” tips.  It had all the RoadRunner emblems and decals, down to the RoadRunner head in the front grille.  If you are not convinced, after looking at this project, that we can transform your car into truely something spectacular, then I’m speechless.

1972 Plymouth Duster 340

This 1972 Duster was a Texas car and came to us with all original sheet metal except for only replacing the quarter patch panels.  It was originally painted in the 70′s Starsky and Hutch color scheme with red and the over the roof white stripe.  After a short, very short, deliberation, we decided the traditional “Hemi Orange” would look more appropriate.  The under carriage, as all of our cars, was detailed and painted.  The under the hood treatment was done was well – detailed and painted 340 motor, suspension, K member, firewall and accessories.  The 340 was freshened up with new belts, hoses, gaskets, plugs, seals, ect.  The interior was  redone in white to contrast the exterior with new seat covers, carpet, headliner and door panels.

1971 Dodge Challenger Pro Touring

What a beautiful car.  It went from being a solid original metal basic  Dodge Challenger, to a head turning muscle machine.  All the trim as well as the chrome bumpers were given a “Black Chrome” treatment, subtle yet killer.  The paint was “Prowler Orange” with interior pieces painted to match.  The drip rails were shaved, the car was lowered, and under the hood the color matched engine block looked perfect.  All of our cars, and this one is no exception, have a new “Pypes” exhaust system, with factory tips.

1970 Dodge Charger 500

This 1970 Charger was a Texas car and was partially restored when we recieved it, mostly underneath the car.  The undercarriage had been nicely painted, with all new brake and fuel lines.  We finished off the underneath with a custom “Pypes” exhaust with stock tips.  We spent about 500 hours on the body prepping and painting.  It had all original sheet metal.  We finished it in burnt orange paint with a white “Boar” skin vinyl top.  The interior was completely redone, from carpet to headliner and everything in between.  It had the 383 CI with a 727 automatic.  The wheels were 15×8 in the front and 15×10 in the rear with new rubber  to help fill up those massive wheel wells.

The original pre-restoration pictures have been misplaced for the time being.

These pictures are of the final product,  before the MECUM AUTO AUCTION SALE.
